Regulatory Affairs Manager , Northern California Power Agency
Scott Tomashefsky is the Regulatory Affairs Manager for NCPA and has been with the agency since August 2005. His principal responsibilities include: 1) ensuring that NCPA and its members comply with all pertinent state and federal energy regulations, and 2) serving as NCPA principal liaison with California’s energy agencies (California Energy Commission, the California Public Utilities Commission, and the California Air Resources Board). Scott oversees the development of NCPA’s various regulatory filings, coordinates reporting responsibilities among the membership, and represents NCPA in key energy policy arenas, including California’s climate program as well as the state’s Renewable Portfolio Standard program. Scott also serves as Vice Chair of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation’s Compliance and Certification Committee.
Prior to his employment with NCPA, Scott spent twelve years at the California Energy Commission, serving six years as a senior policy advisor to three different commissioners, and another six years analyzing natural gas and electricity markets for the agency’s Information Division. Scott holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of California – Irvine and a Masters of Business Administration from California Polytechnic University – Pomona.
