Co-Founder and Vice President, Davis Energy Group
David, who co-founded the highly esteemed Davis Energy Group in 1981, has 40 years of experience in the energy and energy efficiency industry. His work with the Davis Energy Group (DEG) has focused on building energy efficiency and demand side management: Measure, building, and system evaluations using simulation tools and field monitoring, design consulting, product development and commercialization, energy efficiency and zero net energy program management, and energy standards development. These activities include developing, reviewing, and working with energy and demand savings estimates, primarily in the hard to reach residential sector. David directed DEG’s role as team lead in the DOE-sponsored Building America program for twelve years. He has been an active member of ASHRAE since 2000, serving as a voting and corresponding member on several committees, is a technical advisory committee member of the Valley Clean Energy Alliance (a CCA in formation), and served as an engineering juror for two Solar Decathlons.
David has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science from the University of California, Davis (1973), and serves on the UC Davis Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Board of Advisors.
