Robert ‘Bob’ Emmert’s 30 years of experience in the energy industry include engineering, financial analysis, policy and marketing.  Prior to joining the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) he worked with electric generation & transmission utilities, natural gas supply and marketing companies, and consulting firms throughout the west. In his current role at CAISO he leads interconnection stakeholder initiatives and key communication with interconnection customers, Participating Transmission Owners, and other stakeholders related to the development and management of generator interconnection policy. Bob is also responsible for the ISO’s Interconnection Services process and policy development for all generator interconnection projects as well as managing the Loads and Resources team that produces the annual Summer Loads and Resources Assessment, performs production cost modeling related to system and zonal reliability focusing on renewable integration requirements, and assesses reliability impacts related to new policy and changing infrastructure issues.
